Bidvest hold Chiefs 1-1

JOHANNESBURG – Kaizer Chiefs’ impressive display came to a halt when held 1-1 by Bidvest Wits in a tightly contested Absa premiership match played at FNB Stadium on Saturday.

First to score were Chiefs through veteran midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala in the first half before Bidvest Wits equalised in the regulation time to force a 1-1 draw.

The Clever Boys scored their equalising goal courtesy the boot of Egyptian striker Amr Gamal to silence the home crowd.

Chiefs, who anticipated to build from midweek’s impressive 2-0 win over Cape Town City at Cape Stadium where Tshabalala and 17-year old Wiseman Meyiwa scored lost concentration to allow the visitors to equalise.

Earlier on Bidvest Wits had lost their defender following second bookable offence but Amakhosi could not take their numerical advantage to wrap up the match. But the Clever Boys’ main challenge is discipline, otherwise the players should stop interfering with referees at the same time thinking they are invincible.
