ABUJA, (CAJ News) – THE Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) remains defiant despite the government forces violently dispersing a gathering held in Abuja to demand the release of detained leader, Ibrahim El Zakzaky.
He, his wife Hajia Zeenah Ibrahim and scores of other IMN members are in detetion despite court orders to release them.

Deji Adeyanju, the Convener and Dr John Danfulani, Secretary of the Concerned Nigerians, sympathetic to the IMN made the statement.
“This violent interruption is reprehensible, condemnable and constitutes a violation of our rights to lawful assembly as enshrined in the 1999

The officials said until the interruption, people who attended the gathering had conducted themselves “impeccably, lawfully and peacefully.”
“We are not deterred by these illegal & unconstitutional actions by a government that understands violence and force as its only dispute resolution mechanism. Indeed, everything looks like a nail to a government who only possesses a hammer.”
