“It has been 40 years since the momentous events of 1976. We join the rest of the nation in paying tribute to the class of ’76… We [now] live in a country where young people can actually conquer the world and realise their dreams. In this issue, we introduce you to the wonderful world of Nelson Makamo… [who is] crafting a legacy of his own, one brush-stroke at a time ” – DESTINY MAN Editor, Thabiso “TT” Tema

Wednesday, 25th May 2016 – DESTINY MAN hosted the #DMCoverReveal event on Sunday 22nd May to reveal a first for the brand – a youthful cover of artist-entrepreneur Nelson Makamo. In true, #BoldDistinguished style, the event was held at the striking Art It Is gallery in Parkview, where guests mingled over drinks and canapés supplied by French Corner and were spoilt with gifts and vouchers sponsored by Uber, Clarins Man, Miglio, Lux (Unilever), Mercedes-Benz and Convoy Shops. Guests were also serenaded by the sweet sounds of up-and-coming artist, Philile. Among the guests were Nelson Makamo himself, avid art collector & acclaimed photographer Victor Dlamini, global brand and reputation architect, advisor and author Thebe Ikalafeng and Creative Director Siyabonga Beyile. Get your copy today to gain exclusive insight into the workings of the art industry, how social media enabled Makamo to build brand awareness and what it really means to own your craft.
